There is something magical about chickens. In my new novel, everyone wants the chicken painting but Amanda won’t give it up. She’s giving away all her possessions but that one–and then she’s moving to Peace House.

Amanda’s three grown children–Scott, Charlotte and Jeremy–return to Ipswich to help her sort the family stuff. While back in town, Scott bumps into a high school chum (could it be love?), Charlotte hunts a reclusive author (could this resurrect her damaged career?), and Jeremy finds inspiration from an unlikely muse (dilapidated wallpaper).

I have two competing fantasies: sell everything and move to a cottage or fill my urban backyard with chickens. In the meantime, please join me and the Brooks family in finding peace, love and happiness. Read the first chapter, section 1 here.
